Walkthrough: Dashboard design
In this post I will walk you through a dashboard design. Have a look at the slideshow I put up for this. This slideshow shows how to think about adding an element when you are building your dashboard.
I hope this is useful for you guys.
What have you used for the dividers?
I used a thin hairline. An image which I put up in a textbox.
Nice, succint presentation!
Thanks Michael!
Hi Patrick,
First of all, The dashboard looks very neat and its awesome. I have couple of questions.
1. Can you please tell me how the toolbar added parallel to the Sheet Title ‘Dashboard’?
2. How to add the Silent Legends
Best Wishes,
Arockiya.
Arockiya, I added text objects with icons in them to the top section (left to the screen title) and added actions to those to go back, clear the selections, go forward and access the filters page that I designed for that application. Next to that you were asking about adding silent legends. The legends in this example (on the top right [2012/2013/2014]) are just buttons that activate the selection for that year, the fact that we call them silent is that they represent the color scheme throughout the application and its UI. Does that help you?
I got it now. Thanks a lot Patrick.
Best Wishes,
Arockiya.
