Creating infographics with QlikView
Infographics are a hot topic these days. According to wikipedia this is a definition of what infographics are:
Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present complex information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends. The process of creating infographics can be referred to as data visualization, information design, or information architecture.
With QlikView there are lots of possibilities if you think about the freedom and flexibility there is for creating design in general. A few years ago I decided to build an app for measuring my running activities (which I didn’t do for a long time, the mental barrier for continuing was to high…). The most interesting part of it was to be able to have insight into my performance. I had this idea about creating interactive story telling in the app to be able to share with friends for example, via twitter.
This was my first infographic I created into any QlikView app. I guess posting it here is to give you guys some inspiration on what you could achieve with QlikView regarding this topic.
This was the result I came up with at that time.
This should give some ideas around creating your own infographics.
